MY STORY
This method began with a face that no longer moved after an accident.
An accident took control away from me. Training began where my face no longer responded.
The accident and the memory
I was 17. On New Year’s Eve, on the way home, the driver lost control of the car. We hit a tree. I was not wearing a seat belt, flew into the windscreen and my face was torn open. I was blind for five days.
When I could finally open my eyes again, my face had been stitched together with more than 300 stitches. I was 17 and did not recognise myself.

My way back
The sentence that stayed with me
A doctor said it very plainly: if movement had not returned to my face within a year, there was little hope of it ever returning. That sentence stayed with me, like a label I could not peel off.
The first training
After reconstructive surgery, the biggest problem remained: the right side of my face did not move. It drooped. It was not only cosmetic. It changed how people reacted to me and how safe the world felt.
So I turned it into a training project. I stood in front of the mirror and practised, even though at first nothing happened.
Then the first clue came: I could feel movement on the left, while the right side still felt silent. When I recreated that inner sensation on the right, something began to move. Slowly. Weakly. But it moved.
It took more than two years of consistent work before I had recovered enough function to live normally again.
The real discovery
That is where my real work began. When you rebuild your own face from the inside, you stop believing that human expression is only mood. You begin to ask different questions:
- What exactly moves in the face — and why?
- What does muscle tone do before we speak?
- Why do we read people incorrectly so often — and then argue about our guesses?
That became the method
I studied broadly — medicine, psychology and human behaviour — because I was not looking for a single isolated discipline. I was looking for the missing link between biology, perception and social misunderstanding.
Over time, the focus became clear: visible facial muscle tension, learning as children do through observation and imitation, and conscious checking.
The method
From experience to method
Brain-Shot grew from working with the face, the body, muscle tension and verifiable perception. To read people, you do not need a stronger opinion. You need to observe more precisely and check your interpretation.
At Brain-Shot Academy, we do not look for very brief, fleeting facial expressions. We observe longer-lasting tension in the jaw, eyes and mouth and check its meaning against the context.
The body became a source of information
Five days without sight. More than 300 stitches. A face that no longer responded as it had before.
Movement could be retrained
I could feel movement on the left, but initially not on the right. With repeated practice, movement slowly returned to the right side.
The experience led to greater precision
This personal experience became a method combining visible muscle tension, learning through the body and conscious checking.
MY STORY — THE RESULT
From accident to trainable perception
What mattered was not only that I recovered. I realised that tension and change in the facial muscles can be observed and compared over sustained periods.
I developed the Brain-Shot methodology through years of structured research: forming hypotheses, testing them, revising them and rebuilding them — with thousands of evaluations and conversations until the method became stable and teachable.
The result is a teachable method with 24 features. They provide a shared vocabulary for visible observations and require every meaning to be checked against the context.
The result is a calmer nervous system
When people guess less and check more accurately, unnecessary alarm can diminish. Communication can become clearer because assumptions are identified earlier for what they are.
Many conflicts do not arise from malice but from unchecked meanings.
The world believes the first facial expression. Brain-Shot observes and checks before it becomes a judgement.
Body signal instead of an old story
The body reacts first. The method checks whether visible clues and context support the first interpretation.
Check before trusting your gut feeling
Your own body’s reaction provides a clue. Visible signals and context turn it into a checkable assessment.
Calm instead of guessing
When more information is visible and checked, the brain has fewer gaps to fill with danger.
